Natureworks offers a variety of products for your various aquatic needs from herbicides and algicides to treat your waterbody to products to control geese or weed growth. The tables below list these products, the sizes available, and the price for each.

Small Order Quantities include less than 4 gallons of the 1 gallon containers, less than 5 gallons of the 2.5 gallon containers, and 2 bags or less of the products sold in bag quantities. Containers and bags are sold in multiples of the quantities listed and cannot be ordered in partial containers or bags.

Large Order Quantities include greater than 4 gallons of the 1 gallon containers, greater than 5 gallons of the 2.5 gallon containers, and 2 bags or more of the products sold in bag quantities. Containers and bags are sold in multiples of the quantities listed and cannot be ordered in partial containers or bags.

The products listed below target a variety of waterbody needs. For your Goose Control needs, we offer three different options: Gator Guards, Goose D-Fence, or ReJeX-iT. For weed control, you have the options of the Lake Sweeper or Texel.

Goose Control

The first option is Gator Guard, a floating alligator head propelled around the pond by the wind. Since it moves about the pond, the birds think the alligator head is a predator following them and will stay away from the pond. The Gator Guard is 25 inches long, 11 inches wide, and 7 inches tall with mirror-backed eyes that flash in the sun.

The Goose D-Fence package is a second option. This is a fence that bars pond or shoreline access for the geese. The system consists of 1 rewind system, stainless steel receptacles to anchor the gray posts with blue caps into the ground, and over 500 feet of line. The individual property package consists of 1 rewind system, 4 receptacles, 3 posts with caps, and over 500 feet of line. This package can set up a simple two-line barrier along a shoreline. The large section package consists of 1 rewind system, 7 receptacles, 6 posts with caps, and over 500 feet of line. This package is designed to cover large sections of the pond. Typically, multiple packages are required to protect an entire pond. Extra posts, caps, line guides, and receptacles are also available for purchase. The third option for Goose Control is a liquid repellent called ReJeX-iT. The repellent is sprayed on the turf areas the geese frequent. The active ingredient, Methyl anthranilate, is a substance found in Concord grapes used to flavor such things as grape bubblegum. The geese dislike the grape taste and will avoid the areas treated with ReJeX-iT. One gallon of ReJeX-iT will cover approximately 17,000 square feet, and 2 ½ gallons will cover about 1 acre. Repeat applications are usually necessary to ensure control.

Weed Control

For control of weeds, the first option is the Lake Sweeper. A support arm attaches to a post via a strap. Attached to the support arm are adjustable ropes with rakes on the ends. A pump propels the arm, and a series of floats allow the arm to stay above water as the rakes brush over the weeds gradually wearing down the weeds. This process allows the weeds to disintegrate into the water. A 24-foot base unit consists of 4 stainless steel rakes (6 feet wide with tines about 8 inches long), 4 sections of aluminum support arms (6 feet long with blue floats and quick connects), 2 electric nozzles, 1 self priming pump, a control box with a timer, an inflow screen, pump connections, and a dock connection. It runs off a household current, 115 volt, and draws under 15 amps. Each 6-foot section of the support arm weighs about 12 pounds, and the pump itself weighs around 27 pounds. Additional sections, spray nozzles, white hose, and pump fittings can also be purchased.

The other option is Texel, a felt-like, polyester, geotextile panel. Texel serves as a benthic weed barrier blocking out light to the hydrosoils, thus inhibiting the weed growth. It has a specific gravity greater than water that allows it to sink to the bottom of the pond and is needle punched to allow liquids and gases to vent to the underlying water designed to eliminate the “ballooning” commonly associated with other screen barriers. Texel is available in either a 20 ft. by 50 ft. panel or a 30 ft. by 50 ft. panel.
